Moving into a new home is an exciting milestone, but it can also feel overwhelming with all the details that need attention. To help make your transition as smooth as possible, we've created a simple move-in checklist to keep you organized and stress-free before the big day.
Before Move-In Day
Review Your Move-In Sheet
Once you're approved, you'll receive a Move-In Sheet outlining:
- Payments already made
- Remaining balances due on move-in day
- Important move-in information and requirements
Taking a few minutes to review this document carefully can help prevent surprises and ensure you're fully prepared for move-in.
Set Up Your Electric Service
To avoid service interruptions or additional charges, be sure to transfer electricity into your name effective on your lease start date.

Secure Renter's Insurance
Renter's insurance is required prior to move-in.
You can:
- Enroll in our preferred insurance policy, or
- Choose any licensed insurance provider
Before move-in day, make sure:
- Your policy meets lease requirements
- Proof of coverage has been submitted to the leasing office
Sign Your Lease
Your lease agreement will be sent electronically through RentCafe.
Before move-in:
- Check your email regularly
- Review all lease documents
- Complete all required signatures
Plan Your Move
Confirm Your Moving Truck Size
For the safety of our residents and property, oversized moving trucks are not permitted on-site.
Before booking your movers:
- Review the list of approved truck sizes
- Share vehicle restrictions with your moving company
- Confirm compliance before move-in day
Pack Essentials Separately
Keep a box or bag with important items you'll need on your first night, including:
- Toiletries
- Medications
- Phone chargers
- Basic cleaning supplies
- Bedding and pillows
- Snacks and bottled water
- Important documents
On Move-In Day
Bring Required Payments
If you have any remaining balances listed on your Move-In Sheet, be sure to have payment ready according to your leasing office's instructions.
Complete Your Apartment Inspection
Before unpacking:
- Check each room carefully
- Test lights and appliances
- Verify faucets and toilets are working properly
- Note any pre-existing conditions
- Return any required inspection forms promptly
Pick Up Your Keys and Welcome Information
Once everything is complete, you'll receive access to your new home and all the information you need to start enjoying the community.
After You Move In
Update Your Address
Don't forget to update your address with:
- USPS
- Employer
- Banks and credit cards
- Insurance providers
- Subscription services
- Family and friends
Explore Your New Community
Take some time to get acquainted with:
